Over time, attitudes toward jewelry have evolved, dividing them into daytime or evening pieces. Today, however, the design and dynamics of the market allow the same jewelry to be worn on any occasion, simply by styling it correctly.
At Pearl Code, we aim to create a collection of multifunctional, versatile, and personalized jewelry. There is no universal formula because each stone settles and manifests differently depending on your personality and lifestyle.
A jewelry capsule includes 10 essential pieces:
- 5 necklaces of different lengths
- 2 pairs of earrings (daytime and evening)
- 1 bracelet
- 1 ring
- 2 bolder or unusual pieces (such as a body chain, cuff, ring bracelet, chunky necklace, etc.)
These pieces can be worn together for a sophisticated look or separately for a simpler style. Each piece complements the others, no matter how you combine them. It all depends on your mood and the outfit you’ve chosen.
For example, you can wear all the pieces at once, and they will look wonderful together. As you start removing one piece at a time, your outfit will remain harmonious. We don’t recommend wearing more than 5 layers of necklaces daily, but this layered look is ideal for special occasions or when you want a more styled appearance. Each layer should be longer than the previous one, with the last being the longest.
Style observations:
- The more layers of necklaces and earrings you wear, the more casual the look becomes.
- For an elegant and reserved appearance, minimalism is key—a suit or a dress made from quality fabric, complemented by a simple set of necklaces, earrings, and a bracelet or ring.
- A casual outfit can be enhanced by mixing stones, pearl shapes, and sizes.
If you're aiming for a more classic or sober look, opt for pearl jewelry for the neck, hands, and ears—just as our mothers and grandmothers did. It's important to avoid too many layers of jewelry when wearing clothing with busy or sophisticated prints.
Choosing your jewelry each day is a meditative and intimate process, one you can repeat each morning, either alone or with the help of a loved one. When you're in the mood for simplicity, your capsule contains minimalist pieces that perfectly match both sporty outfits and elegant dresses or classic suits.
Taking care of your jewelry is just as important as choosing it:
- Avoid contact with chemical solutions and cosmetics.
- Wear your jewelry carefully, store it separately, and never leave it in your bag with keys or other objects.
- Remove your jewelry before sleeping, exercising, or doing other activities.
- When you get home, after washing your hands, take off your jewelry just like you do with your outer clothing.
In royal courts, there is a person called the Court Jeweler, responsible for maintaining royal jewelry. These pieces are regularly exposed to air and natural light to preserve their shine and are cleaned with special solutions that don’t affect the metals or gemstones. Some pieces are allowed to age naturally, preserving the patina of time.
Returning to the jewelry capsule, why is it personalized? Jewelry adapts to the anatomy of the wearer—whether it's the shape of the ear, neck, or wrist. The length of a necklace, for instance, depends on weight, height, and the shape of the neck. The baroque pearl, being uneven, must be positioned to sit comfortably on the ear, but this doesn’t always happen.
For example, cuff earrings may not fit flatter ears, and if you force them to stay in place, you risk losing them. However, on ears with deeper lines, a cuff can be worn even during sports if placed correctly.
Necklaces—depending on the shape of the pearl—can accentuate either the eyes or the lips, a fact proven by our experiences with hundreds of women observed in our workshop. This is a kind of magic, a way of communicating with yourself and the world around you.
Gemstones absorb the energy of the day, so it’s recommended to remove them in the evening to release the day’s experiences. You can cleanse them under running water or charge them in the light of a full moon.
Each quality piece of jewelry is, in itself, a statement. When you set an intention for each piece, you decide what mood or state you will carry with the necklace, bracelet, or earrings you choose to wear.
And remember, you are a source of inspiration when you wear Pearl Code!
