The pearl was grown on a river farm in the Yangtze River Delta in eastern China, inside the triangle sail mussel, the freshwater mussel known for the finest nacre. The mussels hang in clean, flowing river water, and farmers tend them through the seasons: they clear weeds, keep the water healthy and raise or lower each mussel as the temperature changes. A single mussel grows several pearls side by side, and most take irregular shapes, so a truly round pearl is the rarer result. Every pearl is sorted by hand for size, shape, luster and colour. This one was harvested in 2025.
Orbita closes with an English clasp, a hinged latch that snaps shut securely and opens easily. Wear them alone for a clean everyday look, or pair them with studs for a layered ear.
